About The Fragrance

Sahara Sunset, inspired by Byredo’s Bal d’Afrique, opens with the golden brightness of Amalfi lemon and bergamot, warmed by marigold, black currant, and the honeyed touch of African orange flower. The heart blooms with soft violet, airy cyclamen, and radiant jasmine, evoking the colors and textures of a desert in full light. In the base, smoky vetiver, sensual musk, glowing amber, and smooth Virginia cedar create a lingering warmth.

Why do you use organic sugarcane alcohol in your perfumes?

  • Have you ever wondered why some perfumes have a strong alcohol smell when first applied? Well, the dirty little secret is that most brands use something called denatured alcohol for the base of their fragrance. Alcohol is a necessary component of any perfume formulation as it acts as the carrier and helps to project the fragrance when applied. Most brands use denatured alcohol to save on costs.....it's really that simple (if they're cutting costs on alcohol, where else are they cutting costs?). Denatured alcohol includes additional chemicals like Bitrex, which allows companies to avoid the extra alcohol taxes collected on food grade alcohol. Bitrex has a very strong chemical smell, that most people associate with and confuse for pure alcohol. 100% organic sugarcane alcohol actually has no smell at all.

  • We use organic sugarcane alcohol as the base for our perfumes because it is sustainable, eco-friendly, and provides a clean, scent-free, and neutral foundation that allows the fragrance notes to shine. Dead ringer for bal d' afrique. I would say 97-98% similarity just the slightest bit woodier in the mid notes. But same opening and dry down - soooo nice. I will probably never stop repurchasing this perfume and have already told tons of people about it. It's. So. Good. My signature scent for sure!

Wearing Sahara Sunset feels and smells like taking your clean cotton or linen clothing out of the drier after you’ve take a long relaxing shower. This scent is intriguing, never gets boring, is never too much to handle, and lingers for so long!!! Absolutely a comfort scent while still being fun and different than any other fragrance. Sahara Sunset is so unique and stands out! The citrus does not give “household cleaner” in the slightest. It brightens this blend to make it feel crisp and clean in a comforting non-soapy way. Sahara Sunset is such a beautiful, warm fragrance. Right from the first spray, I get a bright burst of citrus that feels fresh and sunny, with a subtle sweetness!! As it settles soft florals come through and give it an airy, elegant feel without being overly floral. On the dry down it turns into a warm blend of vetiver, amber, musk, and cedar that feels smooth, cozy, and a little exotic. It has this effortless, sun-kissed vibe that makes me think warm summer evenings. If you love fragrances that are radiant, and sophisticated with a warm finish, this one is definitely worth trying.
